Bessie Rinaudo Obituary, Death Cause – Bessie Smith Rinaudo, a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away in a calm and serene manner on May 2, 2023. She was 90 years old. Bessie was born and reared in the town of Fordoche, Louisiana, but after getting married to Salvador “S. J.” Rinaudo, she eventually settled down in the town of New Roads, also located in Louisiana. Bessie made the decision to relocate to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 2014 so that she could be nearer to her family.
Bessie was a kind and beautiful woman who loved her family without conditions and would do anything for them if given the chance. Everyone will always remember her warm and friendly smile, as well as her kind and compassionate heart. Bessie was a devoted gardener, and she had a special affection for daylilies, which she grew and gave out to anyone who asked. She had a soft spot for strays and would always welcome them into her home. She cherished the time she spent with her granddogs.
Bessie was a superb cook, and the family will always remember her for dishes like chicken and sausage gumbo and spaghetti and meatballs. Both of these dishes have become traditions in the family. Bessie, who was deeply devoted to the Catholic church, will forever serve as an inspiration to all those who knew her as a model of faith as well as love, family, and compassion. Bessie is survived by children Terry Rinaudo and Darlene Hunt (Tommy) of Baton Rouge and Sal Rinaudo (Debbie) of Mandeville; grandchildren Meredith Hunt (Margaret), Brooklyn, NY; Clayton Hunt, Los Angeles, CA; Elizabeth Rinaudo (Sam) Raeford, NC, and Sarah Rinaudo (Blaine), Hubert, NC; sisters, Sylvia Perricone, Fordoche, Georgia Johnson, Livonia; brother, Ulysse Smith, Jr., Fordoche; sisters-in-law, Gloria Rinaudo, New Roads and Leonie Smith, Fordoche. Along with a large number of nieces and nephews, she is also survived by Margaret Madere, who was a daughter figure to her throughout her life.
