Bobbie Parker Obituary, Ex Alabama State University staff Passes Away

Bobbie Parker Obituary, Death Cause – Ms. Bobbie J. Martin Parker, a former member of the Alabama State University staff and faculty, passed away recently. It is with a heavy heart that we share this news with you. Parker worked at the University for a very long time, from 1984 to 2005, and during that time she was the director of ASU’s Orientation as well as the author of the University-specific course text that is used in orientation sessions.

She was a devoted supporter of ASU. Willie James (Jim) Parker, the man in charge of overseeing the Dunn-Oliver Acadome, is her spouse. The E. G. Cummings Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for her funeral services. On Thursday (April 27) at six o’clock in the evening, the Omega Omega Service of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will be held in the chapel of E. G. Cummings Memorial Funeral Home.

During the course of her illustrious career at ASU, she was also employed there in the roles of academic advisor, project manager, and instructor of orientation. She received her degree in 1972 from Alabama State University and was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for her entire life. She was a generous contributor to Arizona State University in addition to a number of other charities and organisations.

The funeral ceremony for her will be held in Montgomery this coming Friday (April 28) at 11 a.m. at the Community Congregational United Church of Christ located at 3481 S. Court Street in Montgomery. Pastor Raymonda R. Speller will preside over the service. A second service will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Tuscaloosa at the funeral home of Van Hoose & Steele Funeral Services, Inc., which is located at 2615 Stillman Blvd. The deceased was a native of Tuscaloosa. After the funeral, the burial will take place at Cedar Oak Memorial Park in Tuscaloosa.
