Bobby Harp Obituary, Death Cause – Bobby Ladon Harp passed away peacefully on April 28, 2023, within the confines of his own house, where he had lived all his life. In accordance with the wishes he expressed before his passing, the members of his family will get together behind closed doors to commemorate his life. Bob Harp’s birth took place on November 9, 1944 in Corinth, Mississippi. His parents, William Harp and Lois Blackard Harp, both passed away prior to his birth.

People will remember him even now as one of the earliest sports card merchants in the area. This fact will live on in their memories. His primary passions in life were spending time with his family and competing in sports. The Mississippi State Bulldogs and the St. Louis Cardinals were two of his favorite professional and collegiate sports teams, respectively. Bob will be missed in a way that cannot be adequately compensated for by anyone who knew and loved him.

In addition to his biological parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, David and Lawrence Gant, as well as his nephew, Jerry Lee Downs. His biological parents passed away while he was a little child. Bob leaves his wife of 59 years, Betty Ann Gant Harp; one daughter, Janet Taylor (Robert) of Franklin TN; one son, Ken Harp (Sharon) of Elyria, OH; four grandchildren, Shu Shu Harp, Jie Jie Harp, Moshi Harp and Andrew Mendez; great-granddaughter, Cassidy Mendez; brother-in-law, Jerry Gant (Brenda), sister-in-law, Rheedia Downs (Gerald); nieces, Beth Sims and Kathie Ann Downs; and nephew, David Downs.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Sameer Nasir and the rest of the staff at West Clinic, as well as to Amy Jo and Tara from the IV Therapy department at Magnolia Hospital. Thank you.
