Boomer Vancouver Obituary, Death Cause – The tragic death of a Downtown Eastside resident in an electrical room fire highlights the critical need for housing and community. “He had a way with words.”
On April 29, the fire that killed Bundy, who was 60 years old, took place in the electrical room where he was staying. Vancouver Fire Rescue was dispatched to the 400 block of Dunlevy Avenue at 9:20 p.m. that night, where they discovered smoke coming from the electrical room in the rear parking lot of the building.

When they went inside, they discovered a man there. Even though first responders performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on him, he was pronounced dead. The death of Bundy comes at a time when disadvantaged families and individuals across the province are struggling to find safe and affordable homes. His neighborhood, which is located in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, is home to more than 20,000 individuals, many of whom are forced to live on the streets, rely on shelters, or make a choice between living in unsafe or unsuitable housing situations.

Rhonda Stephens had this recollection of her buddy Dino Bundy, who resided in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver and was someone who enjoyed lending a helping hand to others. Bundy was also known as Boomer by his close circle of pals. “If you went for a stroll on Hastings in the Downtown Eastside, you would come across Boomer… He had the ability to win over everybody he talked to, whether it was a man, a woman, or a child. He was the individual in question.
