Brian Hoeflinger Obituary, Death Cause – Four months before he was scheduled to graduate from high school at the young age of 18, our son Brian Hoeflinger was taken from us in a terrible car accident. He was a young man who, just like you, dreamed of attending a prestigious university and leading a fulfilled and happy life. He was a kid just like you. On the night he passed away, he was at a party with his buddies where they were drinking vodka, and he ended up driving while under the influence. I will never forget the phone call that came in the middle of the night informing us that Brian had been involved in an automobile accident.

The awful feeling in the pit of your stomach combined with the frantic beating of your heart when you don’t know whether your child has been wounded or if he is even still alive when you don’t know if your child has been hurt or if he is even still alive. As you wait anxiously to hear what the other person on the other end of the line has to say, every part of your body begins to quake violently. We were given the directive to report to the hospital right away.

The trip to the hospital is still fresh in my mind. That night it snowed and was really cold outside. Because of what was about to be revealed to us, we were filled with dread. What kind of injuries did our son Brian sustain? When my wife and I got at the hospital, the receptionist informed us that Brian had already passed away. Our bodies were numb. We were struck instantly with a sense of emptiness and total isolation within. You can only wonder to yourself, “How is it possible that this nightmare is actually happening?”
