Brian O’Dea Obituary, Stamford Women’s Rugby Former President Has Died

Brian O’Dea Obituary, Death Cause – The tragic demise of Brian ‘Taff’ O’Dea is something that the Stamford Rugby Club had to announce with a great deal of sorrow. A past President who was both a stalwart and a coach, this person is a great club legend. He joined the Santa Barbara City Police Department as a Police Cadet when he was still a student at Santa Barbara City College. Playing volleyball with some of the top players in the world, including his future wife Laura Eaton, was one of Brian’s favorite things to do at East Beach.

The Santa Barbara Mission played host to the wedding of Brian and Laura in the year 1982. They earned their degrees from Fresno State University while working as seasonal employees in Yosemite and Yellowstone National Parks during the summers of their studies. After receiving his magna cum laude in 1985, Brian obtained a post as a National Park Ranger in Yellowstone, and he and his wife moved there shortly after. Katie and Kristin were born in Yellowstone a few years later. They spent the majority of their time in Yellowstone’s Northeast District, which is often regarded as one of the park’s most scenic regions, and they did so with great pleasure.

Since his birth, Brian has spent the summers in Wyoming at Yellowstone National Park, where his father worked as a National Park Ranger during the summer vacations, and at the family ranch that his mother’s side of the family owns near Buffalo. Brian had a deep respect for the nature via his experiences traveling, working on the ranch, and living in the park. He also developed a strong sense of responsibility for his family and friends. The club will certainly suffer a significant loss with his departure.
