After beginning his career in aviation technology, Brian transitioned into the field of automotive marketing and began working with John Woolfe Racing. After that, he ventured into journalism and began writing and editing for various trade periodicals for the automotive aftermarket.

In addition to this, he made significant advancements in the promotion of the sport in the United Kingdom by designing the country’s first contingency plan with the NHRA serving as a model.
The book “Crazy Horses: The History of British Drag Racing,” which Brian wrote and had published by Haynes Publishing, is his most famous piece of literary work. It is an exhaustively researched and authoritative account of the history of the sport in this nation. Following the establishment of the British Drag Racing Hall of Fame, Brian assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer and assisted in the growth of both the organization and its Annual Gala Awards event.
