Bruce Cavins Obituary, Death Cause –Dianna Lee Cavins, who was 78 years old and lived in Du Quoin, Illinois, passed away in her home on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. Dianna had spent many years tending to her family and working as a housewife and caregiver. She was a woman who was full of affection and concern for others. Dianna was able to warm the cockles of many people’s hearts, particularly via the warmth and generosity of her cuisine. Her relationship with her family was her highest priority. She was the daughter of Earl E. and Ethel (Coffel) Lashbrook and was born on March 29, 1943 in Du Quoin, Illinois. Her mother’s maiden name was Coffel.

She tied the knot with Bruce D. Cavins on June 28, 1958 in Elkville, Illinois, and he is still around today. She is survived by her husband of Du Quoin, three children – Jack Cavins and wife Terri of Du Quoin, Bruce D. Cavins, Jr. and wife Cassie of Carterville, IL and Patricia Cavins-Pena and husband Pete of Johnston City, IL, five grandchildren – Jeff Wilson of Du Quoin, Dustin Jones of Du Quoin, Cody Cavins of Tampa, FL, Kourtney Pena of Johnston City, IL and Alexis Cavins of Carterville, IL, three great grandchildren – Jacob Scholebo, Hunter Jones, and Drake Jones.

Her parents and seven of her siblings—Wilma Woodsides, Paul Lashbrook, Jack Lashbrook, Janet Jump, Ima Jean Stowers, and Sharon Ping—preceded her in death. George Lashbrook was the last of her siblings to pass away. The Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin. The Reverend Allen Newman will preside over the ceremony. The arrangements are being handled by the Searby Funeral Home located in Du Quoin.
