Carol Petrosky Obituary, Death Cause – The departure of our beloved sister and friend Carol Ann Petrosky, who was 74 years old, is something we do so with heavy hearts. On May 1st, 2023, Carol died away without any pain or suffering. Although Carol was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she has called Maryland her home since 1975. Carol’s husband, John Petrosky, as well as her parents, Richard C. Young and Audrey Young, as well as her nephew Christopher Bialecki, all passed away before she did. She is survived by her sister, Diane Bialecki, her brother-in-law, Chester Bialecki, her nieces Virginia Barakat and Diane Ford, as well as their respective families. It was a blessing for her to have a large number of coworkers and close friends.
After completing 12 years of a Catholic education at St. Canice High School in Pittsburgh, Carol went on to earn her Bachelor of Education degree from Duquesne University and her Master of Education degree from Loyola University. Both universities are in the state of Illinois. She left her homeland of Pittsburgh and embarked on what would become a lengthy and devoted career as a Special Education teacher for more than forty years at a variety of institutions in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, including Sunny Acres, Central Special School, and Ruth Parker Eason School, where she eventually retired. Her career spanned multiple institutions in the area.
Carol was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and an enthusiastic participant in the activities of the Saint Bernadette Parish in Severn, Maryland. Carol was a devoted follower of her favorite sports teams from Pittsburgh, the Steelers, the Penguins, and the Pirates. Carol transformed her garage into a “sports lounge” and frequently threw watch parties for Pittsburgh Steelers games with her other friends who are also fans of the team.
