Charles Manning Obituary, Resident of Scarbro Has Died

Charles Manning Obituary, Death Cause – Charles Robert Manning, age 91, of Scarbro, West Virginia, died away without suffering on Monday, May 1, 2023 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. He was the son of Clyde Thomas and Ester Pearl Harless Manning, both of whom passed away before his birth on July 27, 1931 in Burnwell, West Virginia. Charles was a veteran of the United States Army who took great pride in his service.

He also worked in the coal mines and was a member of the Dothan Baptist Church. It was most important to Charles to spend time with his family, but he also enjoyed other activities, such as playing the guitar, eating sweets, and watching Westerns nonstop for hours on end. His wife of 65 years, Ina Pearl Massey Manning; his daughters Robin Denise Manning and Beverly Ann Bailey; his sons Robert Dean Manning and Jeffery Allen Manning; his granddaughter Rachael Dawn Bailey Meadows; his sisters Mary Giles, Maxine Pennington, Irene Jones, Bonnie Spencer, Louie Arrington, and Nellie Saulters; and his brothers Dale Manning, Junior Manning, and Cecil Manning; all passed away before him.

His three devoted daughters, Brinda Sue Willis (William “Bill”), Sandra Kaye Comer (Frank), and Linda Lou McGuffin (Jake), along with his seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, are among those who have been left behind to honor his magnificent memory. On Friday, May 5, 2023, at one o’clock in the afternoon, a funeral ceremony will be held at the Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill, with Pastor Jordan Legg officiating. The final resting place will be at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill after the funeral.
