Dale Hammond Obituary, Death Cause – Dale Hammond has died. He is survived by his wife, Deanna, sons, David and his wife, Deb Hammond of Wichita, Kansas; Dwight and his wife, Debbie Hammond of Wakefield, Kansas and his daughter, Denise Brond of Houston, Texas and 7 grandchildren, Kyle (Ashley) Hammond, Cory Hammond, Ethan Hammond, Isaiah Hammond, Elaina Hammond, Caden Brond and Colton Brond and 2 great grandsons, Calvin and Clark Hammond.
Dale is also survived by his brothers Merle Hammond (and his wife Jolene), Robert Hammond (and his wife Susan), and Shelly Hammond (and his husband Michael), as well as a brother-in-law named Gary Carlson. Dale spent his childhood in the Wakefield region and received his high school diploma from CCCHS in 1959. His wedding to Deanna Davidson took place on October 21st, 1962.
Dale began his career in the electric industry in 1960 as a lineman with C & W Rural Electric. He eventually moved on to Bluestem Electric, where he served as the director of member services until his retirement in 2007. Both the Mizpah United Methodist Church and the Lion’s Club counted him as a member at one point. Dale’s military experience includes time spent in the Kansas National Guard. Dale was able to spend his retirement years doing the things he most enjoyed: spending time with his family; paying his many friends a visit; and spending time at the Tasty Pastry, searching for, collecting, and restoring treasures. Dale never met a stranger.
