Dennis received his diploma from Poland Seminary High School in the year 1969. He held the record for being the youngest bus driver for the Poland Schools while he was a student at Youngstown State University. In 1973, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and accounting from Youngstown State University.

His major was business administration and accounting. After receiving his degree, Dennis relocated to Chicago, Illinois, and soon after was promoted to the position of vice president of Great Western Steel. After that, he began dating Pamela Piller, who would later become his wife; the couple has been together for the past 35 years. After a long and successful career, Dennis retired from Tri-Western Metals Company where he had served as Vice President of Human Resources. “Although we no longer have the benefit of your light, the warmth you brought into our lives will never be forgotten.”
