Dennis Purcell Obituary, Death Cause – On Thursday, May 4, 2023, Dennis R. Purcell, 68 years old, a resident of Johnstown, New York, passed away unexpectedly. He was the son of Raymond and Shirley Purcell, both of whom passed away before his birth on November 21, 1954 at an army hospital at Fort Leonard, Missouri. After living an incredible life that was characterized by his family, coworkers, and the businesses all over the world that he touched, Dennis James Purcell has taken a seat at the ultimate 19th hole. He passed away recently. Dennis, who had lived in Green Bay and Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin for a significant portion of his life, passed suddenly.
In addition to being a social member of the American Legion Post 74 in Mahanoy City, he was a member of the St. Richard’s Church in Barnesville. Dennis was a loving son as well as a beloved brother. He was well-known for his warm smile, his generosity, and his care for the well-being of others. He was the type of person who would go out of his way to assist anyone who was struggling.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Patricia, who is married to William Murphy and lives in Barnesville; three brothers, Edward and his wife, Elizabeth, Ashton; Terrence and his wife, Virginia; and Kevin and his wife, Lori, Midlothian, Virginia; and a stepbrother, Douglas A. Brown, who lives in Lewes. The Reverend Joseph T. Whalen will preside over the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial that will take place at noon on Friday in St. Richard’s Church in Barnesville. There will be a viewing in the church from 10 in the morning to 12 in the afternoon. Donations can be sent in Dennis’s name to either the Ruth Steinert Memorial Fund or St. Richard’s Church, which is located at 104 State Road in Barnesville. SPCDennis received his diploma from the Johnstown School District in 1973 after attending there.
