Ed Young Obituary, Death Cause – We are profoundly sorry to have to notify you of the passing of Ed Young, who was a treasured and cherished member of the DVSA family; it is with great regret that we do so. He will be sorely missed by everyone. Ed served as the pottery technician at the school for over 20 years, during which time he was responsible for ensuring that the kilns continued to function correctly and that our potters were happy and productive in their work.
After a long and successful career at Dofasco, Ed moved on to DVSA, where he soon won everyone over with his charming smile and Irish charm. At Dofasco, Ed had a long and successful career. Ed had a productive and fruitful career with Dofasco over its entirety. Ed is the kind of person who emanates genuine friendliness and generosity. Even though he fired his last kiln in 2013, we were not prepared for him to depart the pottery world.
Even though it had been five years since he had fired a kiln. As a result of this, we made sure to set aside a place for him at ceramic potlucks and we accepted his offers to help with the auction as well as other events. According to Nigel, his grandson, “Ed spent some of his favorite years working for DVSA.” Ed worked for DVSA for many years. Ed put in a significant amount of time at DVSA.
Because I spent the summers of my childhood at DVSA, I have first-hand knowledge of the significant impact that my grandfather had on the faculty and students of the school, as well as the amount of affection that they had for him. This is because I had the opportunity to spend those summers there. This is due to the fact that I had the opportunity to witness this influence and affection firsthand.
