Geoff Mykleby Obituary, Death Cause – The demise of our dear friend Geoff Mykleby the day before yesterday has made the world appear to be a little bit more gloomy today. Geoff was a one-of-a-kind individual, and to know him was to fall in love with him. There will be no one else like Geoff ever again. As soon as the man entered the room, the lighting was adjusted to accommodate his presence. His presence improved the quality of life for everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.

The countless swimmers whom he helped, championed, supported, and loved without wanting anything in return will never in their lives forget about him. He made a good impression on everyone he talked to and interacted with, regardless of the nature of their relationship with him. Beginning in 1995, he began to solidify his position as a significant role in the Dickinson family’s day-to-day activities. There is not enough space on this page to adequately describe the influence that he had not just on us but also on a great number of other individuals.

His passing will be deeply felt by all members of the swim family, including ourselves. We had a little memorial ceremony for Geoff this morning in the space that he and Doug affectionately referred to as “aqua church.” A brief set, a lot of friendship, some smiles, some tears, a lot of laughter, and a commitment to the North Carolina Wolfpack were all part of the memorial ceremony. There is no other method that is more deserving of being used to recall and celebrate one of the true good ones. Team Mykleby forever. LOVE
