Isaac Heninger Obituary, Death Cause – 

The following statement was made available to the media on Monday, May 8, 2023, by Sam Penrod, who works as a spokesman for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
On the evening of Sunday, May 7, 2023, a missionary who was serving with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was involved in a horrific accident that ultimately resulted in his death in the city of Clearfield, which is located in the state of Utah. Elder Isaac Heninger, 19, from Searsville, New Brunswick, Canada, was taken unexpectedly from this life after sustaining a severe head injury and passing away in a hospital in Salt Lake City in the early morning hours of May 8, 2023. Elder Isaac Heninger was a faithful follower of the teachings of Jesus Christ and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Elder Heninger and his associates were on foot and heading to an appointment when they came across a group of young men riding electric scooters and decided to stop and talk with them along the way. At some point, he made the idiotic attempt to hop over one of the scooters, which finally resulted in his sustaining a head injury. As a result of this accident, he was hospitalized.

In December of 2022, Elder Heninger had only recently began his service to others as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was determined that he would serve in the Utah Layton Mission. During this trying time, we would like the family and friends of Elder Heninger to know that we are very saddened by their loss and that we deeply sympathize with them. Everyone whose lives have been thrown into disarray as a result of this awful occurrence is in our prayers. During this difficult time, my prayer is that they would find solace in the love of the Savior.
