Jane Stockford Car Accident, Killingly High School Student Has Died – Death, Obituary

Jane Stockford Obituary, Death Cause – Sergeant Major Gary Duane Stockford, who was from Coldwater and served with the Michigan Army National Guard, was killed in a terrible motorcycle accident. Stockford served in the National Guard. The incident took place in Petersburg, Virginia, on August 5th, in the year 2008. Gary reached the age of 56 in September of 2008, at which point he started making plans for his upcoming retirement.

Gary spent a significant portion of his life serving in the Michigan Army National Guard. During this time, he was a member of various units that were stationed at the Sturgis and Coldwater Armories, and he was honored with a number of medals and badges in recognition of his dedication and duty. when serving in both Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom, Gary found work at the National Guard Bureau in Washington, District of Columbia, when his time in the military was through.

Gary currently has the rank of master sergeant. Gary was born in Hillsdale, which is located in southwest Michigan, and he lived the majority of his life there, as well as in the towns surrounding Hillsdale. He is survived by his wife, Julie; sons, Dax Stockford of Miami, Florida, Curtis Stockford of Coldwater, and Jesse Stockford of Petersburg, Virginia; daughter, Brittany Bateman of Petersburg, Virginia.

grandchildren, Vincent Stockford of Coldwater and Tristan and Bram Stockford of Miami, Florida; brother, Terry Stockford of Alabama; sisters, Judy Blackburn of Brooklyn and Jane Arnett of North Carolina; and a large number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. At the Fort Lee Chapel in Fort Lee, Virginia, on the 7th of August, 2008, funeral services and military honors were held for a deceased service member.
