Jim Cummins Obituary, Death Cause – James A. “Jim” Cummins, 70 years old, a resident of Eldorado, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing at home. On August 2, 1952, he was born to the late Raymond (Red) and Opal Cummins, who had previously passed away. On June 8, 1974, he wed the woman who would go on to become his surviving spouse, Connie.

Throughout his entire life, he found great joy in playing the guitar, going on excursions to the countryside, and going on annual summer vacations with his grandchildren. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who was also a skilled craftsman and an exceptional woodcarver. He impressed upon his daughters the significance of keeping their eyes on the heavens, but more than anything else, he drilled into his family the necessity of savoring the simple pleasures of life because those are the things that matter the most.

Jim eventually tied the knot with his high school sweetheart, Connie, whom he had been devotedly in love with for almost half a century. They had a marriage that was sturdy, respectable, and genuine to one another. He was liked by a great many people, but none more than his own family. After 40 years of service at SGS coal, where he worked as a lab manager in the nearby coal mines, Jim took early retirement in 2017. Carrie Jo (Jimmy) Sisk and Katie Albers, who are both married to other people, are Jim’s surviving daughters.

His three great-granddaughters, Taylen, Stella, and Stevie Williams, as well as his five grandchildren, Kaleb (Chandler) Williams, Molly Williams, Jack Bruce, Tucker Bruce, and River Sisk; he also has five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Danny Cummins, who is married to Linda, as well as a number of brother in laws and sister in laws, cousins, and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Colonial

Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 1:00 p.m., and the Reverend Aaron Phelps will preside over the ceremony. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday and continue until the start of the ceremony. Wolf Creek Cemetery is going to be the location of the burial.
