Jim Garbaczewski Obituary, Death Cause – In affectionate remembrance of Jim “Jimmy” Garbaczewski. The demise of Jim Garbaczewski, who was a co-owner of Chesdan’s restaurant, is something that we are forced to report with a heavy heart. On May 1, 2023, Jim passed away while he was resting quietly in his sleep. Since he came from a family of restaurateurs, it was only natural for him to follow in the footsteps of his father and uncles when they opened their own restaurants.

In the early 1980s, Jim and his brother Dan succeeded his father and uncles as owners of the Chesdan’s restaurant. Jim was the third generation of his family to run the business. Jim loved experimenting in the kitchen and coming up with new recipes, and he made sure that everyone of the customers at his restaurant got a taste of his enthusiasm for the culinary arts. He was able to give a great number of individuals their first employment, and he took a lot of joy in watching his employees advance in their careers.

Jim was a significant figure in the Hot Wheels community outside of the restaurant he owned, where he was known as an obsessive collector of the toy car line. His understanding of the pastime was unrivaled, and he was always happy to impart his expertise to anybody was interested in hearing it. He was gregarious and laid-back, and he possessed an excellent sense of humor along with a laugh that was contagious to match. The numerous people whose lives he changed and the experiences he gave them are the ones who will carry on his legacy. Rest in peace, Jim Garbaczewski. You are not forgotten.
