Joe Mpisi Obituary, Death Cause – Joe Mpisi was a politician and a former trade unionist from South Africa. Since 2014, he has served as a representative for the African National Congress (ANC) in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature. Mpisi was born on November 12, 1966. Since 2012, he has been the Provincial Chairperson of the South African Communist Party (SACP) in Gauteng. This position was previously held by him.

Mpisi was born on November 12th, 1966 in the Meadowlands, which is now a part of Soweto in the province of Gauteng. After completing his secondary education at Lamola Jubilee Senior Secondary School, he became politically active in the fight against apartheid, including participation in the United Democratic Front. Mpisi claims that he became a member of the ANC and its close partner, the SACP, in the year 1980.

Following the fall of apartheid, he became involved in the National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union, which was an associate of the Congress of South African Trade Unions. There, he initially held the position of shop steward and eventually rose to the position of Deputy President. In addition, he continued his involvement in the South African Communist Party (SACP). In March 2012, at the tenth provincial congress of the Gauteng SACP, which was held in Benoni, he was chosen as SACP Provincial Chairperson.

He worked under the direction of Provincial Secretary Jacob Mamabolo, and Rosemary Thobejane-Ndoqo was his deputy. Mpisi was elected to the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in the general election held in 2014, just two years after he was elected to the chair of the SACP. He finished 37th on the ANC’s list of candidates for the provincial party list. During the subsequent legislative term, he was re-elected to his SACP office in May 2015 and May 2018, both times without facing any opposition.

In 2017, he demanded that South African President Jacob Zuma step down as a result of allegations that his administration had aided the Gupta family’s takeover of state institutions.
