John Craft Obituary, Death Cause – In the age of 59, John William Craft died away without any discomfort on Friday, April 28th, 2023 in Hartford Hospital. He is survived by his devoted wife Rosalind, his children John-Donald and Saoirse, his parents John and Edna, his brother Lawrence and wife Ann, his brother Thomas and wife Kerry, his brother Jason and wife Heather, his sister Jacqueline, his nephews Liam, Braedon, Lucas, Teagan, and Albie, and his niece Beatrice; his sister-in-law Melanie and her husband Andrea; and his closest friends Kevin and his wife Fatima Dubauskas.

Everyone who knew John could attest to the fact that he was a devoted husband, father, uncle, and friend. He had a warm heart that was full of generosity, and it overflowed with a profound love of music. He was a fantastic tenor and graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in music performance. John was a devoted cantor who sang for many years at the Our Lady of Lourdes church in Waterbury. For the past 15 years, he has also cantored at the St. Mary’s Church of the Visitation in Clinton.

Over the course of more than 25 years, John taught music and drama to students in the Upper School at Rumsey Hall School. He was proud to call the Rumsey community, where he had the opportunity to make such wonderful friends, his home. John was also a fan of anything Gilbert and Sullivan and performed as a lead tenor with the Simsbury Light Opera Company and The Connecticut Gilbert and Sullivan Society for a number of years. John loved everything related to Gilbert and Sullivan.
