Karen Burdick Obituary, Death Cause – It is with a heavy heart that we must bring some distressing news to our Paramount Family, but we must do so nonetheless. The life of Karen Burdick was taken from our world much too soon when it had just begun. She fought leukemia for a considerable amount of time, but the sickness was ultimately victorious in the fight on Wednesday evening. She passed away as a result of her illness. She passed away without any suffering or discomfort in her final hours, allowing her loved ones to say goodbye to her without worry.

Between the years 1989 and 2015, Karen and her late husband Bob, who had owned and managed Paramount together, were the only owners of the business. During that time period, Karen was the sole owner of the business. They started by establishing a business in Springfield, and then not too much farther down the road, they built a shop on the location where it is now, on Delta Highway. At some point along the route, it was decided that operating a single site was sufficient, and as a direct result of this decision, the shop that was situated in Springfield was eventually shut down.

Those of us who worked for Karen will remember her for her expertise in sewing and the sewing industry, her dedication to her business and her customers, the family-like environment she created for her employees, her diligence in staying on top of new sewing trends, and the store she created that fostered an atmosphere of learning and enjoyment that made sewing “Sew much Fun.” Karen will be missed by all of us. We are all going to miss having Karen around.
