Tighe of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Janet (Backman) Waugh of North Carolina raised him to be a cherished son. He was their only child. North Carolina is the state where Kevin’s parents first connected with one another.

Kevin was born and raised in Wilmington, and for his secondary schooling he completed his time at Wilmington High School. Kevin was the son of Janet (Backman) Waugh and her husband Frank of North Carolina and James D. Tighe and his wife Jeanette of Wilmington, dear brother of Dana Tighe and his companion Diane Reposa of Cambridge, Peter Tighe and his wife Paula of Austin, TX, Brian Tighe of Chelmsford, Todd Davidson of Wilmington, Anna Davidson of Tewksbury and the late Greg Davidson, uncle of three nieces.

In addition, Kevin is survived by a sizable number of relatives on both sides of his family, including aunts, uncles, and cousins. Frank of North Carolina and James D. In addition, Kevin is survived by a large number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
