As a result of her addiction to alcohol, my sweet child Kortney Jean Gesell, who was also known as Mush, went away today.

Seeing a loved one battle with addiction can leave you feeling helpless, which is one of the most difficult aspects of this experience. There is no question in my mind that she is having a peaceful time presently. I shall love you till the end of time, and I pray that she will eventually find the serenity she seeks. Please, God, take her hand and guide her through the celestial portals in a way that is both safe and secure.

The more time that goes and the more I experience, the more difficult it becomes. It is difficult for me to wrap my head around the idea that you are no longer present among us in this place. It’s truly tearing a hole in my heart right now. It is a very bothersome experience. I genuinely apologize. We will see you again someday, Kortney Gesell; may you finally find the peace that you so desperately need in paradise.
