Larry Cooper Obituary, Death Cause – It has been determined that Larry Cooper has passed away. We express our heartfelt sympathies. In a post that was disseminated throughout several social media platforms, the following was written: “It is with great regret and sadness that the Nassau Fire Department announces the passing of Past Chief, Past President, and Life Member and Current Nassau Firefighter Larry Cooper.” Our members, our department, and the community will be forever changed as a result of the life that Larry lived and the things that he was passionate about.

Larry has devoted the past 61 years of his life to volunteering in the community and working for the Nassau Fire Department. Not only was he a wonderful business associate, but he also served as a teacher, a guide, a friend, and an advocate. He was one of the most admirable people a firefighter could ever hope to work with. His commitment to the safety of firefighters, the advancement of the firefighting profession, and the education of young firefighters and officers will live on in infamy for all time.

As a result of his service, our department is in a position of immense blessing, and the legacy he leaves behind will continue to motivate us for the rest of eternity. The visitation for Larry will take place on Friday, May 12 from four in the afternoon until nine in the evening at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home in Nassau. The memorial service for Larry will take place at the Grace United Methodist Church in Nassau on May 13 at 11 am.
