- by Sophia Mia
Lia Readinger Obituary, Death Cause – In the Berean Baptist Church, where she was a member and served as a choir member in addition to teaching Sunday school, Geraldine gave service to God by serving in these capacities. She was involved in fibromyalgia awareness and support groups, and at one point in her life, she was even the den leader for a Cub Scout club. Geraldine was an avid reader who had a definite predilection for literature that dealt with mystery and suspense, but she also liked to watch television in her spare time.
Needlework was one of her hobbies, and she had a special spot in her heart for the brightly colored carousel horses. Even though Geraldine was a brilliant cook in her own right, she absolutely liked eating at restaurants that were not her own. On the other hand, she had a sweet spot in her heart for her cats, and she treasured above all else the time she could spend with her family. Her feline companions held a special place in her heart. Her family is the one who will carry on her legacy.
This includes her husband Leonard W. Readinger, with whom she just recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary; their three sons Phillip Jay Readinger, of Reading; Thomas Lee Readinger and his wife Lisa, of Temple; Timothy Allen Readinger and his significant other Lorraine Wallace, of Middleburg, Pennsylvania; their daughter Barbabra Ann (Readinger)Estrada, of New Providence, New Jersey; and three brothers John Styer Jr., James Styer, and Robert Styer. Kimberly Readinger, Sgt.
Martin Readinger, Bradley Readinger, Mitchell Readinger, Lia Readinger, Natalie Readinger, and Derek Estrada are Geraldine’s children; she also has one great-grandchild, Nolan Readinger-Tharp. Geraldine is survived by her children. Her grandchildren and great-grandchild will carry on her family’s traditions once she’s gone.
