For Reids, the Open Mic group is comparable to a large extended family, and he regards the opportunity to be a part of it as one of the greatest privileges in his life. Our hearts are devastated since the other day we were forced to painfully say goodbye to a dear friend of ours.

Yesterday marked the passing of Matthew Blodgett, an exceptional friend and neighbor of ours who is portrayed in the image above in a seated position. We ask that you pray for those who were closest to him as well as his friends at this difficult time. We appreciate your consideration. You will not be forgotten, Matthew; may your soul find peace in the knowledge that you will not be forgotten.

He is survived by his parents Marissa and Mikel; sister Kasey Cathryn; brother Haden Theodore; maternal grandparents: Jamie and Krisanne Brown of Horseheads, NY; paternal grandparents: Karen and Gus Northrup, Ted and Wendy Blodgett and paternal great-grandmother Sharon Tierney all of Binghamton; maternal great-grandparents: Linda Mallette Gardner of Horseheads; Jerry and Delia Gardner of Corning; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. As soon as it is practical for them to do so, the family of Ezra will start making the required preparations for private funeral ceremonies to be held as soon as possible. His daughter Christie Blodgett Rouse and her husband Matt Rouse, along with their children Andrew and Abigail Rouse, are among his survivors. Also among his survivors are his son Matthew Blodgett and his wife Tiffany Blodgett, along with their children Dominick and Jackson Blodgett, and his sister Jo Blodgett and her husband Kyle Burtt.
