Mitch Speigel Obituary, Death Cause – Mitch Speigel Has died. Speigel was the previous president of Acme Building and Construction, which was a significant commercial and industrial construction company with offices in Sudbury, Toronto, and Montreal. Up to the time of his passing, Speigel continued to work as a mortgage agent and in property management, according to Nash. In August of 2016, Speigel was one of the primary individuals responsible for organizing Burger Wars, a friendly competition amongst local eateries. The Northern Cancer Foundation received a donation of one dollar for each and every burger that was sold.
Despite the fact that Nash was aware that Speigel had been struggling with his health in recent years, he was shocked to learn of his passing “because Mitch looked well at our last meeting for dinner a few months ago.” They were constantly in touch with one another via email, with Speigel frequently sending witty one-liners. Another buddy, Shemer Ratner, wrote about Mitch on Facebook, saying that he was a “kind man with a big heart.” A real mensch. vibrant right up until the very last moment. He was the first person to greet my family and make us feel at home in the Jewish community of Sudbury.
Speigel is survived by his three daughters, Lisa (who is married to Andrew Biro), Dara (who is married to Iain Landon), and Jeremy (who is married to Emily Wilkins), as well as his six grandkids. Both Speigel, a former president of the Sudbury Chamber of Commerce, and his wife, Donna, were very involved in the life of the city. They gave money to a variety of organizations, volunteered their time with a number of groups, and had a large number of friends.
