Moya had a prosperous and eventful professional life, but she never lost sight of the fact that she was a nurse first and foremost. Moya’s calling in life was to be a nurse because it was the profession that best channeled her loving energy. And oh, how she adored little children! Her ardent love for infants propelled her to become a pioneer in neonatal care at hospitals located in the Toronto area, a leading trainer of neonatal resuscitation, and, right up until the time she passed away, a minder of child health outcomes of fertility programs located all across Canada. Moya spent her childhood in a home in Toronto that was always full with activity because to the presence of her grandparents, parents, three brothers, and one Dachshund. Moya’s father Edward (Ted) served in the Allied Forces in Europe from 1939 until 1945.

When he returned to the United States, he and his wife Eleanor began their family with the birth of Michael, followed by Moya, Teddy, and Peter. Moya’s grandfather also served in the war.
