Nathan Hughes Obituary Slocomb Alabama, Death, Funeral And Visitation

Nathan Hughes Obituary, Death Cause – Yesterday, as I was traveling home from watching the Redtops play their playoff games, the heartbreaking news that Cade’s friend and fellow student Nathan Hughes had passed away came to my attention. I cried myself to sleep last night, and when I woke up early this morning, I was still crying. When Cade was just four years old, he accompanied my father to Bay Springs Automotive as a tagalong. That is a day that I will never, ever forget.

The next day, when Cade arrived at his house, he was ecstatic and couldn’t stop talking about his new friend Nathan and Nathan’s dog. He went on and on about how they played, how they ran and played, how they threw the football and ran, and how he couldn’t wait to go back to that shop so that he could play with his friend. When we would pass by the shop, Cade would always say, “I need to stop and play with Nathan again.” There was never a time when he didn’t say that.

The days gradually grew into months, and the months eventually became years. Let’s fast forward to approximately eight years later, when Cade’s friend Nathan enrolled at Slocomb High School. Wow! They talked about the “good ol’ days,” to hear him tell it, as they reminisced about the past. The good old days, when children would play vigorously from sunrise to sunset. Friendships were genuine, easy to maintain, and did not need either evaluation or deliberation on the part of either party.

friendships that were limitless in scope and could reach any heights together. Cade, along with his friends and classmates, had their hearts shattered the previous night as they discovered that life is so incredibly unfair! Today, when I was driving away from Gracen’s game, I was forced to pull over because I started crying again. You see, I was never able to meet Nathan in person, but I always had the impression that I had done so.
