Nick Chenier Obituary, Death Cause – Yesterday, my nephew Nick was killed in a terrible accident. Friends of my sister Jennifer Chenier have established a fundraising campaign on the website GoFundMe in order to assist with expenses associated with her funeral. Our family would be grateful for any assistance received. I am grateful to you. Nick Chenier, the Chenier family’s oldest son, passed away in an unthinkable accident on Friday, May 5th, exactly one month before he would have turned 21 years old. The Chenier family has experienced an inconceivable tragedy.

Nick had been toiling away for a hedge trimming company in Manotick when he was injured on the job. The previous week had been filled with unending days of rain, but the sun had finally made an appearance. Nick was tragically killed when he hit an overhead hydro wire that was buried within the hedge (because the hedge had grown around it). The line had grown around it.

Nick could not be brought back to life despite the best efforts of those who responded to the call and the medical staff in the Emergency Department at the Queensway Carleton Hospital.

As you can probably understand, the amount of suffering that Jen, Michael, and the rest of their family and friends are through is indescribable. It is unfiltered and easily felt. They have been left in a state of disbelief and pain as a result of this awful and senseless catastrophe. Nobody should ever have to go through the pain of watching their kid suffer and die. And it is unacceptable for a boy to lose both his sibling and his closest friend at the age of 16.
