Stella Chronas Obituary, Stella Chronas Has Passed Away

Stella Chronas Obituary, Death – We make this announcement with hope in the resurrection and faith in Christ, as we know that Mrs. Stella Chronas has passed away and is now resting in the Lord. The obituary and service times for our sister in Christ, Stella Dandos Chronas, are included below for your convenience. May her memories live on for all time.

The 23rd of November 1930 to the 1st of May 2023, Stella passed away in a calm and quiet manner on May 1, 2023, surrounded by her family, including her son Harry Chronas and his wife Emily, her daughter Elaine Greenstein and her husband Dale, and her granddaughter Ainsley Greenstein. Stella was overjoyed to play the role of the pivotal figure in her family’s daily activities. Anyone who knew her would be aware that she placed an inordinate amount of importance on her family.

Stella’s parents, Gust and Evanthia Dandos, gave birth to her in the town of Martins Ferry, Ohio. She made the trip to Mobile 75 years ago, and it was there that she became married to Steve Chronas, who passed away before she did. Her other siblings, Mary, Peter, and Michael, all passed away before her. Her sister Mary was the first to go. Stella was well-known in the hospitality industry, thanks in large part to her husband’s involvement.

She was involved with the Belmont and Harry’s Restaurant, and she owned and operated the Royal Knight Restaurant and the Pier 4 Restaurant with her family. Stella possessed a strong and unwavering belief in God, a compassionate attitude, and the ability to meet the challenges of life with dignity and poise. She was a regular volunteer for Church activities, as well as a member of the Philoptochos Society and the Daughters of Penelope.

She did this because she enjoyed giving back to the community. Stella was an early supporter of Penelope House and was one of the Charter Members who helped the organization get its start. Stella was a remarkable wife and mother, and she will be sorely missed by her husband and children, as well as her close friends, nephews, cousins, and neighbors. Visitation and funeral services are scheduled to take place at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church located at 50 South Ann Street in Mobile, Alabama on the 5th of May, 2023.

The viewing will take place from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, and the funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM. Pine Crest Cemetery will be the location of the interment. Donations in her memory may be donated to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Mobile, Penelope House, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital in place of flowers.
