Stephen Haan Obituary, Death Cause – After a long and brave battle with muscular dystrophy, Stephen Joseph Haan, age 53, from Abilene, Texas, died away in peace on Monday, May 1, 2023, with his wife Lori at his side. He had been fighting the disease for quite some time. On August 9, 1969, Steve Haan was brought into the world by his parents, Cathy Roche and Joseph Haan, in the city of Ft. Worth, Texas. His first wife, Brooke Martin, and his maternal grandpa, AJ Draper, passed away before he did. He was predeceased by both of them.

He is survived by his wife, Lori Anderson; his parents, Michael and Cathy Roche; his father, Joseph Haan and stepmother, Mary Haan; his siblings Scott Haan; and Cynthia Partain and husband, David; his children, Michelle Fox and her husband, Cole; Devin Haan and his wife, Kasey; and Sheldon Haan; stepdaughter Leslie Fennel and her husband Zack; and stepson Andrew Anderson; four grandchildren, five nieces and nephews, one great niece and one great nephew.

In 1988, Steve received his diploma from Pflugerville High School, and the following year, he enlisted in the United States Navy. Following his discharge from the Navy, Steve relocated to Abilene, and it was there that he initiated a relationship with the woman who would later become his first wife, Brooke Martin. They had three children: Michelle, Sheldon, and Devin, all of whom were born during their time spent together.

Throughout his entire life, Steve had a passion for both working with animals and racing cars. When he was a young boy, he used to ride dirt motorcycles with his older brother, Scott, and his father, Mike. When he was an adult, he attended NASCAR races rather frequently. He was crazy about things that moved quickly. In the year 2010, he started dating the woman who would later become his wife and best friend. She shared his love of animals and was always up for an adventure. They both cherished their pets, which included cats, goldfish, and Koi that they had cared for through the years.
