I am sorry to have to be the one to break the news to you that one of our very own members and friends has passed away at this time; yet, I am forced to do so despite the fact that my heart is hurting. I am sorry to have to break the news to you that one of our very own members and friends has passed away at this time.

We have great hopes, and I pray that she will finally be able to find the peace and quiet that she so richly deserves. I pray that she will find it sooner rather than later. Tammy placed everyone else before herself. She was fighting cancer at the time, and I recall that she didn’t finish a doggy basket in time to raffle it off at our Super Bowl party a few years ago. When I talked to her in the hospital, she was so unhappy that she hadn’t been able to get it done. I am going to miss her incredibly, particularly her laugh. We are keeping Bob and his family in our prayers. Our outpost is never going to be the same again.

It came as a terrible awakening for all of us today when we learned that Tammy Stepanek, an Auxiliary member who worked at the post bar, had gone away. She had been with us for many years. We shall miss having her around. Tammy was a thoughtful individual who also ranked high on the list of the post’s most passionate fans. She was a reliable friend who could always be counted on in any situation. Her positive contributions that were helpful to our outpost will undeniably be missed by a large amount by all of us who are now stationed here. We would appreciate it if you could keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers today as you go about your day. If you could please do that for me, it would mean a great deal to me.
