Timothy Bourke Obituary, Chelmsford Police Officer Dies 2 Weeks After Cancer Diagnosis

Timothy Bourke Obituary, Death Cause – Timothy Bourke, who had worked as a police officer in the city of Chelmsford since 1993 and had spent his whole life in the city, passed suddenly on May 7, according to the Chelmsford Police Department. Bourke had been a resident of Chelmsford his entire life. Bourke was informed that he had cancer just two weeks before he passed away. Sadly, he did not survive the disease.

The Chelmsford Police Department issued an announcement in which it claimed, “We will miss his laughter, smile, and willingness to put others before himself at all times.” Throughout the majority of his working career, Bourke had the position that required him to be on duty from 8:00 p.m. till midnight. In 2010, he was presented with both the Meritorious Service award from the Chelmsford Police Foundation and the Meritorious

Service award from the Irish American Police Officers Association. Both of these awards were given in appreciation of his outstanding service. On its Facebook page, an organization known as the Irish American Police Officers Association commented, “We are absolutely devastated by this shocking news.” One of the posts on the Chelmsford Athletics page lamented the passing of “one of the good guys taken way too soon.” “Timmy, you are so loved by all of us.”

Bourke is survived by his wife, as well as his mother and sister in addition to his wife. After the funeral preparations have been decided upon and finalized, the Blake-Chelmsford Funeral Home will be in charge of organizing the funeral services.
