Zach graduated from Strasburg High School in 2021, where he was a standout football player and earned a letter in each of his four high school seasons. Zach was also an outstanding student. in the time, he was enrolled in Walsh University in Canton, where he was also participating in the school’s football squad. Zachary Booth Chaney, who was born on October 5th, 2002 in Dover, was the son of Steve and Stephanie Booth Chaney of Strasburg.

Steve and Stephanie Booth Chaney lived in Strasburg. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Courtney Chaney (companion, Joe Horstmann), who resides in Mason, Ohio; his grandparents, Connie Chaney of Strasburg and John (Kim) Booth of Leesville; his uncles, Scott Booth of Dellroy, Brian Chaney of North Carolina, and Chris (Kelly) Chaney of Carrollton; and his cousins, Lilly Booth, Ethan Booth, and John Chaney. He was a loving brother and uncle.

His maternal grandfather, Russ Chaney, and his maternal aunt, Donna Rainsberg, passed away before he was born. Zach was a very dedicated worker who was always working out and getting ready for the following season; his father had built a home weight room, and Zach could usually be found there working out by himself or with his friends. Zach was an extremely hard worker. He was a leader who took great delight in assisting his teammates, particularly the younger members of the squad, in becoming more skilled athletes. Zach had a fantastic sense of humor off the field, he cherished making other people laugh, and he was well-known for the contagious, huge smile he wore. In his spare time, he volunteered at the food pantry at the Strasburg United Methodist Church. He was also an avid player of video games.
